Violet to sometimes white blooms with darker veins in the throat. April-June with some fall rebloom. Robust, bushy clumps of green, heart-shaped leaves. 8-18″ tall. Full sun to moderate shade. Moist to wet, well-draining soil. Will self-sow. Good small-scale groundcover along walkways and under shrubs. NE U.S. native. Zone 3.
