Dark green leaves flushed with purple. 4″ tall. Purple 1/2″ flowers. Light to full shade. Small to medium-scale groundcover. Mixes well with ferns, Iris cristata, spring flowering bulbs. Also in the shaded shrub border. Self seeds readily forming colonies. Northeastern U.S. native. Zone 3.
