White to lavender flowers. Late June – August. A tall clump forming perennial with a strongly vertical presence. 5 ‘ tall. Full sun, moist soil. Attracts butterflies. Deer resistant. Combines well with aster, chelone, eupatorium, helianthus and hibiscus. Northeastern U.S. native species.  Zone 4.
