Clouds of creamy white to purple flowers. June – July. 3 – 6′ tall. Stems often purple. Light to moderate shade (full sun if wet); moist soil. Good cut flower. Attracts butterflies. Deer resistant. Provides strong vertical accent in tight spaces. Mixed borders, woodlands, meadows. Northeastern U.S. native. Zone 3.
