Glossy, dark green blades with sharp edges that turn yellow in the fall. Comb-like, straw colored flowers extend above the foliage July-August. 4 -7 ‘ tall. Full sun-part shade. Best grown in rich, moist-wet soil. Tolerates sandy and rocky soils. Will spread aggressively by rhizomes. Drought tolerant. Northeastern U.S. native. Zone 4.
