Clump forming habit with steel blue-green leaves and feathered copper colored flowers in Aug.  Remains attractive thru most of winter.  Cut back in spring.  Attracts seed-eating birds.  A good source of nectar and pollen for beneficial insects.  4 – 5′ tall; full sun.  Drought tolerant.  NE U.S. native species.  Zone 3.
