Evergreen creeper forming dense mat 4″ tall.  Fragrant, rich violet-purple flowers in the shape of a pinwheel.  May – June.  Full sun – part shade, well-drained soil.  Attracts butterflies.  Edger, front of the border, groundcover, rockeries.  Deer resistant.  Salt tolerant.  Zone 4.
