Penstemon hirsutus ‘Pygmaeus’

Violet, tubular flowers.  June – July.  6″ tall.  Full sun.  Drought tolerant once established.  Attracts butterflies.  Deer resistant.  A well-mannered dwarf variety.  Cut back spent blooms after flowering.  Well suited to rock gardens, cottage gardens, small spaces.  Northeastern U.S. native species.  Zone 3.
