Panicum virgatum ‘Heavy Metal’

Long-lived warm season grass with silvery blue-green foliage. Seed heads begin in July. Forms strong, upright clump 3 – 5′ tall (in flower). Full sun. Drought tolerant. Salt tolerant. Remains attractive through winter. Effective singly & in masses. Cut back in early spring. Northeastern U.S. native species. Zone 4.
