White cotton candy-like plumes appear later than the species. September – March. Dark green, fine textured foliage. Clump-forming upright habit. 3 – 4′ tall. Full sun. Effective singly and in masses. A good choice for groundcover use in droughty soils. NE U.S. native of sandy or rocky soils. Juglone tolerant. Deer resistant. Zone 6, possibly 5.
