Green, clump-forming foliage. Stiffly upright habit. Purple seed heads maturing to chestnut brown. July – winter. 3′ tall. The entire plant turns golden-yellow in the fall. Full sun – light shade. Deer resistant. Useful as a vertical accent – singly and in masses. Zone 4.
