Clumps of long upright stems 3 – 4 ‘ tall. Intense deep red flowers July – August. Full sun to light shade; organically rich, moist soil. Excellent cut flower. Attracts hummingbirds & butterflies. Native of wet woods, swamps, pond & stream margins of northeastern U.S. May naturalize where happy. Zone 3.
