Pink-purple (occasionally white) flowers in upright spikes. July – August. 3 – 4′ tall. Full sun. Moist & dry soil tolerant. Good cut flower. Deer resistant. Attracts songbirds & butterflies. Borders, meadows, under downspouts. Considered the best Liatris species for borders and formal gardens. Midwestern U.S. native. Zone 3.
