Juncus greenei

Dark green, cylindrical leaves in an upright arching spike form. 2′ tall. Seed heads July – August mature to chestnut brown. Full sun. Tolerant of dry, sandy sites. Northeastern U.S. native. Ours are Long Island provenance. Zone 3.
