Hibiscus moscheutos var. palustris

Pink (occasionally red or white) flowers. July – Sept. 4 – 5′ tall. Full sun. Organically rich, moist soil ideal. Slow to emerge in spring. Attracts hummingbirds & butterflies. Deer resistant. Salt tolerant. Northeastern U.S. native wetland species – performs well in garden soils as long as it is not droughty. Ours are L.I. native. Zone 4.
