Large deep red 6″ flowers. Deeply divided maple-like foliage. 5 – 7′ tall. Brilliant red fall foliage and stem color. Full sun. Organically rich, moist soil. Will even grow in standing water but grows well in average garden soil as long as it is kept moist. Slow to emerge in spring. Attracts hummingbirds & butterflies. Deer resistant. SE U.S. native. Zone 6.
