Large, thistle-like flowers begin lime-green with blue stamens maturing to silvery-white.  Metallic, silvery-blue leaves.  July – September.  2 – 3′ tall.  Full sun, well-drained soil.  Drought tolerant.  Best in lean, dry soils.  Avoid overwatering.  Deer resistant.  Attracts butterflies.  Excellent cut & dried flower.  Biennial – self sows readily.  Zone 4.
