Elegant broad-leafed fern species. Hardiest of the holly ferns. The unrolling fronds are especially striking. 18 – 24″ tall. Semi-evergreen. Light to moderate shade. Grows best in organically rich, moist soil. Deer resistant. Combines well with epimedium, carex, tricyrtis, smaller hostas & spring flowering bulbs. Zone 5.
