Syn. Actaea simplex. Dark purple to near black fern-like foliage and stems. Long spires of pink honey-scented flowers. July – September. Sturdy stems. 3 – 5′ tall. Light to moderate shade. Organically rich, moist soil is a must. Deer resistant. Attracts butterflies. Great cut flower. Zone 4.
