Prized for its dangling oat-like spikelets held on nodding stems above the foliage – light green in summer, red-bronze in autumn and salmon-buff in winter. August – December. Vibrant gold fall foliage. Clump-forming habit to 3′ tall. Very upright in sun, attractively lax-stemmed in shade.  Full sun – part shade. Self-sows. Drought tolerant. Deer resistant. E U.S. native. Zone 5.
