Forms dense clumps of bright green leaves. 2 – 3′ tall. Full sun – part shade, moist soil. Attractive seed heads in June. Found in wet meadows, swamps, and stream banks. Tolerates average soil moisture also. Salt tolerant. Deer resistant. Northeastern U.S. native. Zone 3.
