Forms dense clumps of bright green new leaves surrounded by a skirt of straw colored old leaves. 2 – 3 ‘ tall. Full sun – part shade, moist soil. Deer resistant. Found in wet meadows, swamps, and stream banks. Northeastern U.S. native. Zone 3.
