Attractive blue-green leaves. 12″ tall. Seed heads in May. Light to full shade. Moderately drought tolerant; moist soil tolerant. Deer resistant. Combines well with ferns, hellebores, pulmonaria, Phlox stolonifera, epimedium, asarum, saruma, heuchera. Northeastern US native. Zone 5.
