Calamagrostis canadensis

Dense green foliage 2′ tall. Green seed heads maturing to tan. 4′ tall with seed heads. June – August. Highly adaptable species. Full sun – part shade. Average to moist soils ideal but drought tolerant once established. Fast spreading species. Rain gardens, swales, meadows, wetlands, erosion control. Northeastern U.S. native. Our plants are Long Island provenance. Zone 3.
