Purple blue flower spikes with charcoal gray stems. May – June. Attractive foliage. Large bushy habit. 3′ tall. Full sun – light shade. Deer resistant. Excellent in mixed borders. Plant low growing groundcovers around them as a compliment. Leave seedpods standing for winter interest. Long lived. A hybrid of NE U.S. native species. Zone 4.
