A durable, soft-textured species. Upright habit. 18 – 36″ tall. Light to moderate shade; will tolerate sun if soil is moist. Grows best in organically rich, moist soil. Deer resistant. Combines well with epimedium, carex, tricyrtis, smaller hostas, Begonia grandis & spring flowering bulbs. Northeastern U.S. native. Zone 5.
