Aster divaricatus ‘Eastern Star’
Syn. Eurybia divaricata. Dark, shiny, mahogany stems. Masses of white flowers September – October. 18 – 24″ tall. Light to moderate shade. Deer resistant. Attracts butterflies. Best sited where its lax habit can drape over other plants such as bergenia; or cascading over a wall or on a slope. A good naturalizer under trees. Northeastern U.S. native. Originally collected from coastal Rhode Island. Zone 3.
