AROMATIC ASTER

Syn. Symphyotrichum oblongifolium.  Large, lavender-blue flowers.  September – October.  Forms a low mound of bushy, aromatic foliage.  30″ tall.  Full sun.  Drought and poor soil tolerant.  Deer resistant. Attracts butterflies.  Suitable for use as a groundcover and in mixed borders.  Northeastern U.S. native species.  Zone 3.
