A choice, slow spreading woodlander. Kidney-shaped leaves up to 6″ wide. 4 – 6″ tall. Hidden purplish flowers May. Part to full shade. Organically rich, moist soil. Rhizomes can be dried and candied. Woodland groundcover. NE U.S. native of rich, deciduous woods. Zone 4.
