Narrow green foliage. Clump forming. 18 – 24″ tall. Seed heads develop in late summer persisting into winter. Full sun to part shade. Drought tolerant. Well adapted to sandy and rocky soils. Attracts seed eating birds. Northeastern U.S. native of dry habitats. Ours are Long Island native. Zone 5.
