Bright green, umbrella-like leaves, 1-2′ tall. Round clusters of white flowers in May-June, followed by dark blue berries. Light- moderate shade. Moist soil tolerant. Deer resistant. Roots have edible & medicinal value. Northeastern U.S. native. Ours are Long Island provenance. Zone 4.
