Greenish-white flowers with elongated cylindrical cones June – July. 1 – 2′ tall. Mature cones release seed on cottony tufts which blow in the wind! Full sun – part shade. Well suited to sandy soils. Attracts pollinators. Deer resistant. Drought tolerant. Northeastern U.S. native. Zone 4.
