Foliage begins green, turning red-purple then tawny orange in late fall which persists through winter. Upright, clumping habit. Silver flowers especially attractive when back lit.  4′ tall in flower. Remains upright in fall/winter when foliage really glows!  Full sun.  Drought tolerant. Salt tolerant. Northeastern U.S. native of sandy soil and dry, open woods. Ours are Long Island provenance. Zone 3.
