Clusters of round flower heads covered in pearly-white bracts. Blooms start in July. Finished blooms preserve until frost, or they can be cut and used as a durable, long-lasting dried flower. Woolly, green-gray foliage on stems, 1 – 3 ‘ tall. Full sun – part shade. Attracts butterflies and other beneficial insects. Host plant of the American Lady and Painted Lady butterflies. Drought and poor soil tolerant. Northeastern U.S. native. Zone 3.
