Green Leaves 18 – 30″ tall. Critical to the stabilization of coastal dunes. Forms dominant stands in dunes and dry, sandy areas along the U.S. east coast and the Great Lakes. Grows well in garden soils also! Strongly rhizomatous. Full sun. Extremely drought tolerant. Salt tolerant. Deer resistant. Grows in association with Opuntia humifusa, Artemisia stelleriana. U.S. east coast native. Ours are Long Island native stock. Zone 5.
