Ammophila breviligulata

Forms dominant stands in dunes and dry sandy areas. 18 – 30″ tall. Strongly rhizomatous. Full sun. Extremely drought tolerant. Salt tolerant. Deer resistant. Grows in association with Opuntia humifusa, Artemisia stelleriana. U.S. east coast native. Ours are Long Island native stock. Zone 5.
