Spring/Summer Internships

The internship will be hands-on with a focus on the skills and knowledge relating to growing plants. Interns are assigned a section of the nursery in which they will be responsible for the maintenance of the section’s crops. Interns will also be assigned to other departments of the nursery including propagation, potting, irrigation, shipping, and integrated pest management. By practicing these skills daily an intern can expect, by the end of the internship, to possess the skills to commercially produce container plants.

While our interns are expected to be productive, we are committed to educating our interns so that they will possess the knowledge that goes along with the growing skills. There will be many opportunities to engage with managers and experienced staff about not only how but why we do what we do. Rotated assignments will be based on seasonal relevancy and needs of the nursery. Based on the interests of the intern, additional special projects may be assigned.

Access to housing and transportation available.
