Pale lavender-violet, star-shaped flowers in April. Stays under 6″ tall. Forms dense colonies of finely cut foliage. Part shade to full shade, tolerant of full sun if soil is moist. Choice woodland shade groundcover. Plant among ferns, Begonia grandis, platycodon and ceratostigma. Summer dormant. Zone 4.
