Fragrant, single pink flowers 2 – 3″ across. June. Bright red rose hips persist through winter – edible & nutritious. 3 – 6′ tall. Excellent red fall foliage. Red canes are attractive in winter. Full sun. Moist soil & salt tolerant. Tolerates seasonal flooding. Attracts pollinators. Northeastern U.S. native. Ours are Long Island native. Zone 3.
