Three-lobed leaves on long petioles. 1′ tall. Flowers consist of a green & purple spadix (jack) inside a hooded green & purple spathe (pulpit). May – June. Light to moderate shade, organically rich, moist soil. Deer resistant. Red berries in the fall provide food for wildlife. NE U.S. native. Zone 4.
