Amelanchier alnifolia ‘Smokey’

White flowers in April followed by sweet, tasty, blue-black fruit in June that resemble blueberries.  Larger fruited than straight species.  8 – 10′ tall.  Full sun – light shade.  Attracts songbirds.  Exceptional yellow-red fall foliage.  Can form a thick hedge.  Self-pollinating.  Midwest U.S. native.  Zone 2.
